Hi:
We have this, old 'American Standard' faucets on our Bath-Tub.

Every time when turning on 'hot-water' to get hot-water in the bath-tub, it's
getting a semi-loud squeaking noise, although its functionability is perfect OK. There is a bit 'leak' even turning-off hot-water, but we can live with that.

However, this, 'sqeaking noise' sometime getting on our nerves, even though we put new 'washer' along with 'screw.' Also, this whole faucet of the Bath-Tub was replaced last year, then it's a kind 'new' except Bath-Tub that still keeps 'whitish-white,' not browish-white. It's an old-fashioned bathtub, but we, are a sort attached to it, then getting a new bath-tub is out of question, that could be more realistic to this date.

Wonder what's wrong with this, 'Semi-Loud' squeaking noise whenever turning-on 'Hot-Water?' BTW, 'cold-water' has no problem at all.

Is there 'grease' or 'oil' for stopping 'squeaking noise?'
If in that's case, what kind of grease or oil specifically designed to this problem should I look for?

Thanks for your help greatly in advance.

What you need to do is remove and break down the stems for this faucet and apply waterproof plumbing grease to all moving parts or parts that rotate etc.

The grease is readily available at hardware stores and is only a few dollars for a tube.
