My daughter got food coloring on a white Laura Ashley quilt. Any ideas on how to get it out? I've not washed it or soaked it yet since I don't want to set it further by making a mistake.
Thanks for any replies!

Food coloring contains dye. If in doubt, take quilt to a professional cleaner. Quilts, depending on stitchery & construction, can be fragile when it comes to washing and drying.
You can pretreat stains with heavy duty liquid laundry detergent and soak in water, detergent, and 2 cups ammonia. If stain remains, blot with solvent cleaner like rubbing alcohol, denatured alcohol, or dry cleaning fluid. Blot from outside the stain toward the middle with white rag to prevent spreading. Flush with water and repeat presoaking with water, detergent, and ammonia if necessary. Do not dry in dryer until stain is removed as heat may set dye stains.

I wouldn't mess with this myself. I'd try a pro first.
