I know it's drilled through every DIY not to use aluminum flashing with pressure-treated lumber because of the galvanic corrision with the copper in the lumber, but the Al flashing is so much cheaper, what's the harm, right? We demoed recently to put an arch in between our existing kitchen and the new addition! We removed the studs and pressure-tread sole plate from the 8" CMU beneath it in preperation to remove the block, and discovered this gaping hole:

And this wall was installed by supposed professionals renovating the house just 8 years ago... Here's a wider shot after we removed the trim:
