My house is from 1952 and the bathroom is extremely small. Nonetheless it has never been updated. I have the old tile on the floor and walls and tub and the old porcelean tub. I have been looking at ways to do my bathroom without going to crazy (money) and without putting our only bathroom out of commission too long. One of the angles I am looking at is replacing riping up the floor and laying new tile and in the room where the tile only goes half way up, ripping that down and putting waynes coating around. In the tub area I was gonna leave the tile and have a company come in that specializes in that and refinish the tile in the tub and refinish the tub. My sink is actually newer as well at the toilet. If I go this route though that means I will not be re doing the plumbing in the tub. I do however want to update it. My question is, do they sell new handles and shower head parts for older style tubs. I would need all new handles and covers and there is a diverter handle in the middle. Anyone with advise is greatly appreciated.

For most of the brands which were commonly used, replacement handles, chrome trim, and internal parts are readily available. If it is a very common model, you can even find some brushed nickle stuff now. If you post a picture of it here ( photobucket.com is one way) we could tell you what brand you have.

The brand is Gerber, any recommendations on taking this task on?
