I currently have a York Boiler that is used for hot water only. The boiler was installed in 1955 but still works. The boiler has no problem with hot water as most of the time it's 210 degrees but there is no adjustment for it. We would like some control over the hot water with two little ones in the house. I am paying on average $75 a month for natural gas just to operate the boiler which I believe to be higher than average. Another negative for the boiler is that it is located in my kitchen. We would love to put a dishwasher where the boiler is located.

So my question is how much savings could I expect if I convert my hot water system to a tankless one? All of the comparisons I see are for converting a conventional tank to a tankless. One idea is to mount the unit outside if there is not much of a difference between cost of an interior unit versus an exterior unit.

We live in Norfolk VA, 2 adults, 2 young kids, no hot tubs and we never run 2 hot water appliances at the same time.

Thanks
Brian
