I have electric hot water heater and it was not working this morning :) Never have had an issue with it.. its a few years old and is a 50 i believe..
I have actually never messed with one before but am capable of replacing it.
are there elements that can be replaced... do they have resets ? i am looking for any help before replaceing it..

Most heaters have a reset button on the top tstat. Try this first. Are the breakers ok and on?
are there elements that can be replaced... Yes both the top and bottom can.
The first thing is is the power on??
Are the tstats good.
Then the elements

Most of the time if you run out of hot water fast. Then the bottom element is bad.
You need a meter to run all this down.
post back in this same post if we can help more.
