I had an A/C repairman inform me yesterday that I have both the high & low
king valves leaking on my Ruud A/C unit. I need to know if I can get by with
buying special valve caps which supposedly ensures no leaking or to have both valves replaced. Note: the valves can be a bit pricey (approx. $70.00 each). This is retail price - the info on my A/C unit is as follows:
RUUD MODEL # UAMA-024JAZ
RUUD SERIAL # 5071 M0594 8773
If anyone knows where I can purchase cheaper (I may be able to have the
A/C Repair person buy at wholesale price).

I take it that you mean the core inside the schrader valve there. I dont know what kind of tech you have there . But there is a tool That you can take the core out and put a new core in. And not have to do anything to the freon.
