Hello,

I am remodeling the bathroom and the tub/shower must go. It is a one piece fiberglass unit. It will be replaced with a unit that will be in two or three sections I know. Is a sawsall the tool of choice to remove the old unit? Any tricks of the trade are appreciated.

Thanks

The reciprocating saw will be the proper tool for the job. Be aware, however, when you reach the bottom, the tub may be sitting on several dollops or a solid strata of concrete, so the sawzall will need to be retracted for surface cut across the concrete. I usually cut mine in three pieces, remove the middle piece first and then the two end pieces. It minimizes wall damage and makes for an easier removal weight wise.
