Flames are shooting out where pilot light is. I looked inside and seen black corrosion and when you touch it, it is like ashes, maybe carbon build up not letting gas circulate? NEED HELP

Yes you do ...turn off water heater gas supply and call a dealer. Sounds like you are experiencing recirculation which is very dangerous. Producing carbon monoxide. I can't tell you why this happened since I'm not there.
