Water Heaters - Bradford White vs. Kenmore

I've googled for a couple of hours and found a few relevant posts here, but nothing specific to my exact situation, who makes kenmore and if they are any good. I see many good comments about Bradford White, but they are more expensive.

I'm in the market for a new 50 gallon electric tank... i'd go gas, but I can't.

I've narrowed things down in my search to the following:
Sears Kenmore 55 galon "Best" w/ a 12 year warranty parts (1 year labor) for $489 installed by Sears
-or-
Bradford White 50 gallon (average efficiency) w/ a 6 year warranty parts (1 year labor) for $529 installed by a reputable plummer.

It seems to me that the Kenmore is a better buy overall, but is there some compelling reason to go with Bradford White that I have not considered?

Sears water heaters are made by State. State is now owned by A.O. Smith. Smith acquired other names as well (check their website). I believe Sears will sell them under the Smith name sometime in the future. You may wish to do some more research on these brands and how well they handle warranty issues.

My personal choice is Bradford-White.

Just talked to the Kenmore Water Heater Sales Center and they tell me that all Kenmore water heaters are made by A.O. Smith. Seems that most folks here prefer either Bradford White or A.O. Smith so I'll probably just go with the Kenmore.

A 12-year warranty on parts for $489 versus 6-year warranty on parts for $529 sounds like a better deal.
