Seal is leaking on a old myers deep well jet pump(cant read the plate model numbers). Have a almost new myers hj50s shallow well jet pump with bolt holes that look like they would line up with the old pump. Couple of questions,
First is there anyway to convert a myers hj model shallow well pump to a deep well pump?
Second is there any reason I couldnt just partially disassemble the new shallow well pump using the motor along with its shaft seal and use those to replace the older ones. Thanks

The motors are probably interchangable, but the deep well pump needs to be 1/2 hp also, which is what the HJ50S is. If the deep well is bigger than 1/2 hp, it'll overload the motor. You'll probably need to buy a new mechanical seal, as it is very difficult to remove one without damaging it.
