Hi,

At some point today, my internal fan stopped running. I can hear the outside fan run, but can't tell if the compressor is running or not. I checked the breakers, the one on my main panel is OK, the one outside is ok, there are two on the outside unit that seem ok I have flipped all of these, one of the outside ones was very stiff. This successfully turned the outside fan off, but nothing has turned the inside one on. I have also set the fan switch to "On" in the hopes that might help. Usually the inside fan comes on shortly (30 seconds or so) after the outside unit, how does it know to stay off?

This central air unit is on a manufactured home and was _not_ fitted at the factory. Last year I fitted a programmable thermostat that has worked flawlessly. It is electric heat

I am running out of ideas, anything I can try to get this place cooled down would be great.

Thanks

There is quite the layer of ice on one of the pipes outside, and when I shut the outside unit off, there was a hissing, sugesting that the compressor is good too

Are you running the a/c ?? Sounds like the inside coil is frozen over. Inspect the airhandler and see if there is ice on the copper line going into the airhandler.

Is your air filter dirty ??

If your blower is not working do not run your heat pump unit.

yes, at the time I was running the AC (it's still pretty warm down here in florida)

The blower was not audibly trying to work, I turned it off over night in the hopes it would defrost and start working again.

Defrosting it didn't workout either :(

Does the inside blower even buzz are sound like it tries to run??? If not call a tech can be the blower motor. Dont let the out door unit run with out the inside blower running.
