After sanding and priming, I found some visible areas, I put on a skim coat, sanded and painted the walls with a satin finish.

The walls are smooth ( I checked it with a straight edge) but all of my vertical seams are visible.

Any ideas on how to fix this without starting over?
I used two different brand of mud....could this be the culprit?

Thanks

From what you wrote, you did not apply primer over the mud and that will cause it to absorb paint differently than the rest of the wall and be visible. If you did prime, it probably means you did not sand the mud smooth enough.

So.. for 1:. recoat the paint.

For 2: break out the sandpaper on a long board and make it smooth.

I agree with Mitch, whenever drywall work is not primed it will usually show thru the first coat of paint, using enamel just makes it show even more.

New drywall often needs 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of paint for enamel to look it's best.

Lack of primer over repairs is the likely problem. Another coat of paint should rectify it.

The areas are darker than the rest of the wall...
I've put two coats on so far....do you think it needs to be sanded and primed again.....or just keep adding paint?

Thanks for the help

No sanding should be required, another coat of paint will probably fix it, as Mark said.

As long as the wall feels smooth you shouldn't need to sand. Primer woudn't help much at this stage......

unless there is a texture difference in the repaired areas which would need to be addressed first.
