I am new to this thread and posting thing so please bear with.
I am wonderin gif anyone can lend some advice on the order in which to proceed with my bathroom reno.
I want to do the folowing things
-new stick on tile on the floor
-new sink and vanity
-new vanity lighting
-new white toliet
-new fixtures on sink and bath tub
-either recoat tub or put in an insert
-paint walls
-put up that "barker board" (I think thats its name) The plastic sheet that looks like small tiles.

This is alot, I know, I would like to know where to start. Can i put that board arround the tub, will it stand up, would I have to get the tub coated after the board is up or can I do it before? This is my first home, I want to see most of these repairs done in 3 weeks, and move on to the kitchen. I have the time, I jsut need the direction, noone arround here is offering advice! Well, not for free anyway!

Any direction would be appreceated. Thanks!

The first order if business is to determine whether the tub can be recoated in place or will it need to be removed and taken to a location outside the house for recoating.

Items resting on the floor will need to be removed: commode and vanity.

Install underlayment for floor. Install floor. Install vanity and commode. Install new vanity fixtures. Remove wallboard in tub enclosure. Install new wall board. Install new tub fixtures.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

i know the tub can be re-coated as it is, but not the tile. Can I lay the board over top the tile or do I have to remove the tile? Can I put an insert or molded surround arround the tile? I did not think i needed an underlay for stick on tile? Cant i jsut put it right to my lenolium?

I would caution against using the 12" peel and stick tiles. They will not last. You would be better off doing sheet vinyl and glueing it down. I think you could glue right to the existing floor.

Do the glazing toward the end, after any surround, but before you caulk it up. The wet glaze will attract dust so if you have construction going on at the time, it may affect the finish.
