I need to make a 3/16 x 3/4 notch in a piece of 1 x 2 oak. Would it be better to cut each side of the notch and then chisel out the middle? or try and do it on my router table that I have yet to use?

With the grain? Across the grain? 3/16" D X 3/4" W or 3/16" W X 3/4" D.

Seriously, it's a no brainer -use the router table.
