We inherited a Stihl gas trimmer and are having problems with it choking off. It starts but as soon as you hit the throttle it chokes off. Any ideas?

Sounds like the carburetor may be set too lean, try setting the adjustments a little richer maybe 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Merrym: I posted some information to the third post after this one. Look at 'McCulloch maccat 330'. A portion of that post about tuning your carb / engine might help a little? Good luck, Ron!
