just got this gun new in the box. i'm a newbie starting a project this weekend. do i need to lubricate before first use? whats the lubrication technique?

should be lubed and ready to go. Read the instruction manual for maintenance information and operation instructions. Essentially, it's point, press, and shoot - and be careful!! Those things will punch a nail through your hand/arm/foot/head in an instant. Wear safety glasses and ear protection (this from someone who'se ears have started ringing lately)...
