I just got a brand new Husky Rancher 455, with a 20" bar, and an H30 chain (according to the owner's manual).

Cuts like three demons, hours at a time.

Would you believe it? The chain gradually got dull.

I've always used a round tooth chain on my older McCulloch saws, but the H30 chain is chisel tooth.

Before I set to sharpening it with the wrong tool or technique, may I ask if someone around here can give me some experienced advice? Which file to use, angles, etc? The manual leaves me feeling less than confident about the facts of life.

Also, if I want to use a tougher chain, for some heavy duty work, which is the best choice of chain for that?

Thanks,
