There used to be an electrical strip attached to my basement concrete block wall. I removed it and now have rust back there. How can I remove the rust, or what product should I use to keep it from coming through when I paint?
While we are on rust, the carpet in another basement room got wet and I have a rust stain where a filing cabinet used to sit. Any way to remove it?

For the wall, I'd use CLR. We use a product called Rust Out that we buy at Menards for carpet rust.
