Insulation, Radiant and Vapor Barriers - wet-blown cellulose estimate

I just got an estimate for wet-blown cellulose insulation in the house I'm renovating in upstate NY. The footprint of the house is about 20' x 28', and we're only doing the first floor exterior walls, which is currently gutted/walls are open. Its a mid-1800s ballon-frame, actual stud depth is 5". About 8' to the second floor joists. We were quoted about $1500 for the job. No reason to doubt the contractor, just wondering if this sounds in line with others' experience.

I got 2 estimates last year and that seems to be in line with them. My house is about the same size and I was getting estimates between 3000-5000 for different insulation products for the whole house.

Thanks! I'm getting friends telling me I'm stupid to get blown cellulose and should just do fiberglas myself. The house was built in 1865 and none of the stud spacing is standard or regular, not to mention all manner of funny gaps and spaces. I think I'll go for the cel.
