Outdoor Power Equipment and Small Engines - Ryobi RY30000 2cy Gas trimme

Shortly after purchasing the trimmer the engine appeared to run roughl at full throttle but appeared to run ok at 1/2. Eventually it would run only at 1/2 throttle and stall out a full throttle. Now, running at 1/2 throttle it runs for 10-15 minutes then shuts off and I am unable to restart the engine.

I have bought and tried to clean the carb with carb cleaner and it appeared that it ran a little better but now it is back to not running.

This engine is only a few years old.

do you have any idea what it may be? Could it be something electrical now that it won't start at all?

u might try adjusting the high speed mixture if u havent, fuel filter or gas cap valve

That does sound like vapor lock to me. Loosly tighten the cap. If it works well even for a short time try replacing the cap. If it's a few years old you may want to consider a quality trimmer like shindawa or echo
