I posted this to another forum earlier but think it belongs here.
Just got a quote for a small tape and joint compound job on new drywall.
Estimator said they are going to apply two coats of tape and three coats of j.c.
On the first day they will put on the first two coats of tape and a j.c/plaster mixture to speed drying time thus allowing for the second coat of tape and j.c. to be applied on the same day.
On the second day they will put the third and last coat of j.c
I questioned the application method as I have never heard of it done this way before.
The guy insisted that using two coats tape is the correct way of applying tape and plaster.
Would appreciate some opinions/feedback.
