We plan to put hardwood flooring in our kitchen and dining room. Home Improvement store has Bruce flooring for $2.99. The flooring store starts pricing at $4+. Anyone had both--how would you rate? We are seniors on kind of a tight budget. Don't have much traffic and expect any type flooring will outlast us!

The $2.99 product is a lower grade product. Stating your circumstances, it should serve you well.

Lucy,

I've actually used Bruce oak in my previous home and it was VERY good quality. We just built a new home and used a different brand and I'm not as happy with the quality. The price of $2.99 is definitely in the right ball park. Make sure to ask what price it will be to install as well and if there will be any extra charges for mouldings, etc.

Good luck!
