I considering redoing the ceiling on one of my rooms. My attic contains loose-fill cellulose insulation. Not sure when the insulation was put in, but the house was built in 1952. Any one know if there were building practices that incorporated asbestos w/ cellulose insulation? Thanks.

No way .Cellulose insulation is just choped up old newpaper With alum and copper sulfate in it

Vermiculite is a loose-fill insulation that was popular in some areas back in the 50's and 60's. It looks kind of like little bits of puffed wheat, but is kind of shiny. However not all vermiculite contains asbestos.
