I know this is a pretty basic question, but I can't decide it myself, and it seems like there's a lot of experience in this forum.

When putting a transition in a doorway (using laminate) does the transition go centered under the door (when closed), or centered in the jamb?

I'm trying to remember how I've seen it in open houses recently, but nothing comes to mind.

Thanks, Rob

It's usually centered directly under the door when closed. In fact, I've never seen a transition that didn't line up exactly with the door.

Thanks. That makes sense to me, but my symmetric nature wanted to put it centered in the jamb.

Almost one room done. 4 rooms and 2 hallways to go!!! So far so good, although starting off with a closet edge, heater vent and a wall that was not square and, in fact, had a bulge in the middle has made progress slow initially.
