We just bought a home that has electric baseboard heating. The thermastats are just dials in each room that don't give you any indication of the temprature. In the upstairs bedrooms, I have turned the dials all the way up, but the rooms still feel cold--the heaters are working they just don't seem to warm the rooms enough (maybe to 60-65 degrees). Is there something wrong with the baseboards or is electric baseboard heating just not super warm? What options do we have to improve the homes heating? It would also be nice to have a thermastat that was timed, like on furnaces, where the heat starts in the morning before you get up and turns off at night without you having to remember to do it. Running around turning on and off each rooms heat is a pain.

Do you know if this is a 220volt base board or 110v? 220v will be stronger. if it's suppose to be 220, may want to check to make sure it is getting 220, not lost the other half.
You may have to go around with a vac and clean the coils inside. Some model will allow you to remove the front to clean. Otherwise, suck from the bottom and compressed air on top.
They do make programable t-stat for this. Home Depots sells Honeywel 5-2 Electric baseboard t-stat. model #RLV430A for about $55.
Another member on the board just got one last week, he hasn't come back so must be working out for him.
