I'm the original owner of a 1979 FZ50... and, obviously, it's starting to show it's age. I have two questions.

1) there is a leak from a small, clear tube from the carb... one tube is from the upper carb and one from the lower, and I can't help but think they should have been connected at one time. They are now rather hard.

2) there is a stray wire from what appears to be the input side of the ignition coil, but it doesn't seem to effect operation of the scooter.

I have photos of these but do not know if I'm allowed to post them here. Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks!
Well, as it turns out I learned (on another board) that these two tubes are overflow tubes and are normal. The fact that the lower one is dribbling gas (but only a few minutes after starting and stopping immediately upon shut down) would appear to be an indication that I've got a problem with a float or a needle valve or something. I ordered a carb rebuild kit (which is probably a good idea given that it's 27 years old). I'm only hoping that it's not too difficult to get in there. I don't have a place to post the photos at this time, so I'll not be able to show those tubes or that wire. Thank you, though.
