I'm at wits end! I have a split central unit (heat/propane gas). ok, I'm gonna try to explain this as best I can.
I turn the thermostat to heat...it will heat the house to the desired temp then turn off. Sometimes it turns back on and blows hot air but then at some point it will start blowing cold air & we will wake up in the morning to a very cold house. I've called 2 different guys to come out to work on it. Between the 2, they bled the lines & changed the thermostat. Both saying "That should fix it". Well neither did. It continues to do the same thing. Any ideas as to what else it could be before I call yet another company out to donate money to ...:-)

How old is the furnace? does it have a pilot light or it lights each time? Does it have a control board in it?

I dont get why they did any of that. Do you have a ful tank of gas? did they check the psi or the gas pressure "W/C" in the lines . Vent holes on the regulators all clean and open. Did they clean the pilot and burners?
ED ;)

I don't know how old it is. It was here when I bought the house a little over 5 years ago. It lights each time and yes it has a control board which the last guy switched out with a new one & it didn't make a difference so he put the old one back in...lol
Tank is full. They claimed to have checked gas pressure which seemed ok. I would assume they cleaned everything, I would hope anyway. I know nothing about it and that would be my first thought. If not would that be a major factor in it doing what its doing? I know your probably thinking I'm an idiot but like I said ...I know zilch about this.

No one thinks you are an idiot, you just don't have any experience with furnaces.
Take the cover off the furnace and watch it operate and learn the sequence of operation. Turn the power off, wait a few seconds and turn the power back on. That will reset allyour controls and watch the furnace go through the start up cycle. Describe to us what is happening. We need to know if it has an inducer motor(a small motor mounted above or below the burners), what kind of ignition system ie. standing pilot, spark ignition, or an ignitor that turns cherry red before the burners ignite. If you can tell us that info we can probably guide you down the right path.
