Hi.. Just wondering if you all think that a dark laminate flooring would go with light oak colored cabinets and furnishings?

it could :)

actually, it would be better than using the exact SAME color. but how dark are we talking? i think dark-ER is good. don't go too dark, or too different of a color.

Wood doesn't have to match, because it hardly ever does anyway, even with the best of intentions. Woods simply needs to blend. My in laws put in a staircase with pine 2x12" stringers with only polyurethane on them with an oak railing system stained with oak stain on top of the stringers and it looks great. Try to get a sample of the floor to bring home and see how it looks with your cabinets.
