2 year old Goodman Heat pump, A/C works fine. Compressor kicks on (I think), Lines are cold. Unit turns on with no unusual noise, fan blows, thermostat causes blower and unit to come on immediately, Filters are clean and new. No heat in regular Heat mode or Emergency mode. Blowing 40 degree cold air. Wish the A/C worked that good in summer! Freezing in here please help! Don't know how it worked last year cuase we just moved in in August.

I am willing to bet the defrost board is dead. If it goes the unit will do exactly what you said....A/C in the summer, nada in the winter.

When you put your thermostat to emergency heat the heater kit inside the furnace should be on,you should have heat.Could be Bad thermostat.Need to check the connections inside furnace also for power at the sequincers inside.
