I put a small 2x2 mirror above fireplace 10 years ago w/mastic.
Want to take mirror down, remodeling. What would work besides breaking the mirror. My husband suggested fishing wire to "cut" through it. I tried picture hanger wire (too thick & it broke!), it didn't work. Any ideas besides expensive tools?

I've heard of success using guitar string (metal ones, I assume)....
