I live in New england,I'm in the process of insulating my garage. I used r-13 fiberglass batts for the walls. I'm thinking of using a rigid radiant barrier for the ceilling is this a good idea? any tips?

Radiant barrier sounds like an effective way to reduce some of the heat in an unconditioned garage in summer.
