if you can convert a natural gas water heater to use propane then how do you do it ?
what all would be needed ?
our electric rates with Ameren are going up about 60% on jan first and the nat gas rates jacked up about the same amount last year here too,
so i am looking for options to save on utility costs here in this building in any way that i can, it is large and not much insulated and needs renovated totally and so on
thanks for anything

There are very few water heaters that are convertable from Natural to Propane and those are usually reserved specifically for mobile home use. The majority of water heaters for residential use are not convertable.
In order to convert one, you would need to purchase a new gas control valve and burner assembly. Once you did all that, it wouldn't be much cheaper than replacing the water heater.

Might call the company that made the heater. Could be they have a kit for that heater over to LP

About all we sell and install are heatpumps here in UE country Dont know about a 60% jump. I know they cost a lot less then LP does.
go to http://warmair.net and compare fuel cost for where you are.
