The ceramic floor in my kitchen is in bad shape. Right now, I cannot afford to replace it. I would like to clean the grout, then add to it & color it. Is it possible to add to the grout? Would new grout actually stick to it? It has a lot of holes & cracks in it. Thanks for your help. Jina

Jina,
Grout can crack for several reasons, the most prevalent being movement in the subfloor under the tile. If that is occuring then any new grout that gets added will soon suffer the same fate. You could try the following:
buy a small bag or box of grout (use the sanded type if the grout joint is wider than 1/8") to match your existing color.
dig out any loose grout
mix the new with water and fill the gaps
wait 2 months to see if any new cracks develop
if not get a bottle of grout colorant in the new color you want. Places like www.groutdye.com are good for this and give ample info on what the product is about. Apply the grout colorant over the grout after cleaning it well and letting it dry

It looks good and lasts a long time if there is no movement in the subfloor that will create new cracks.
