we got this used fridge from a friend for our garage. we plugged it in and the freezer is already getting cold but the fridge doesn't seem to be doing much. i turned it up to coldest and it made a loud knocking noise, then i turned it back down and it quit. whaddya think???

Can you hear the fan in freezer running? If fan is not working it won't move any cold air into fresh food side. The clunking noise you heard could be the fan blades hitting coils. You might have to take back off in freezer section to see whats going on at the fan. Dave
