Hello - my first post (read the rest, good stuff).
We have a heat pump/AC that manages our upper floor. It has back-up electricial heat.
My problem: just switched from AC to heating. Had no problems with the AC throughout a Virginia summer.
Switched to heat. The fan comes on, and if the heat is turned up enough, the aux/emergency heating light comes on. I cannot really tell if the heat is functioning (heating) properly in normal mode, and it's not all that warm in aux/emergency mode.
In heat mode, the fan will not switch itself off. I must switch to AC, turn the t-stat down to "trick" the system. The fan will then stop.
Ths system is roughly 14 years old. No problems to date.
Have not changed filter in rougly a month - could this be the problem? Or, might it be the t-stat? Other ideas I could consider before calling the professionals in?
Thanks very much in advance.

Check the wire schematic should be on the blower door see what controls the blower for heat . Can be tied in with the heat sequencers. or a blower relay.

I just changed my thermostat and the Heat pump is doing the same thing. Did you ever find out what was doing this and is it easy to fix?
