One of the 2nd story bedrooms has a ceiling that slopes down on two sides of the room. That room is several degrees cooler in the winter. The walls and the attic above the flat ceiling has adequate insulation.
I looked in the attic and that part of the sloped ceiling has about 4 inches of space between the underside of the roof and top of the ceiling. What is the best way to insulate that space? The house was built in 1940 and has a thin layer of insulation, maybe ½ thick. If I remember correctly, there should be a little space between the roof and the insulation for venting. Because the roof slopes, getting close to the edges is difficult at best. Any ideas?
