I have a GE Profile dishwasher Mdl# GSD4230X72WW. I got up this morn, and the green light was flashing indicating a power failure. I checked the electric box, all switches were on. I knew it was not the power to the house, because the other electric appliances were not flashing showing a power failure. I reset the dishwasher and started it up, it went through the first pre rinse, drained, then completly shut off. No electric power. I checked the power from wall to machine, there was power, yet no power at washer. I opened and closed the door a few times, worked the lock handle, and then all of a sudden there was power. I reset again, started the machine again. I got to about the same the same place again, and the issue repeated itself. Again I opened and closed the door a few times, locked and unlocked the handle several times then again there was power. I repeated this process several times, then I decided to try to remove the cover and try to get to the switch, I removed the three screws on the inside top part of the door because it looked like that was all that was holding it on. I am not sure but the part I am referring to may be called "Escutcheon" . I removed the screws and tried to lift the "panel" out but it would not come off. I removed one more screw each side, and managed to separate the panel from the door just wide enough for me to look in and see the switch. I am not sure that the switch is the problem but with opening and closing the door and jiggling the lock handle to regain power leads me to believe it may be a good place to start if I can just get to it. Any advice will be welcome. Thank you in advance
