I removed the sensor cover of one of my wireless sensors in an attempt to take it off the wall so I could paint. (The sensor had been installed with just one screw, so I did not have the leverage to remove it properly.) This immediately triggered the alarm panel, a Safewatch Pro 3000EN, which I turned off, but now I am left with a message "Check (sensor number)" on the panel. I tried resetting the system by entering my code followed by Off (twice), but this did not work. ADT suggested taking the battery out of the sensor and putting it back in, followed by again resetting the system, but this did not work either. They said that the next step is to request a service call. This does not seem like it should be required, especially given that this is essentially what I would have needed to do to replace the battery. Any other suggestions?

Either do a full power down of your sys (take out the batt leads/ac transformer)

Or on your keypad hit 6321800

Wait about 10 secs

Then hit *99

If your cover is on correctly (make sure it is) your fault should clear.

The big number one is that the cover needs to be on the device properly. If it's a motion detector, some have the tamper switch that triggers if it's not mounted tightly to the wall, as well.

Also, if your batteries were pretty old (4 years+) the battery may have died with that tamper transmission.

I must have misread that...I thought he said that he replaced the battery. That of course, if a big one too.
