I have a Maytag washing machine model #SAV15DAWW. The water just trickles out when I turn the washer on. Its the same no matter what water temperature is selected. As far as I know this just recently started but my wife handles the washing. I removed the hoses at the washer and there is plenty of water and pressure coming through the hoses from the faucet. I changed the screens and also tried it without the screens but there was no change. Any suggestions or does it need a repairman? Thanks for your help.

No pro, but according to this site:

Seems like you checked the right stuff. Sounds like it could be the water-inlet valve.
Here's what it says:
"It's slow to fill
Check to see if there's good water volume coming through the hoses attached to the washing machine. If there is, check to see if the screens inside the water-inlet valve are clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If they're clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, you should completely replace the valve."
I take it "slow to fill" would be the same as trickling water?

Here's info straight from Maytag's website:

"Why won't my washer fill up with water?
Start by making sure the machine is plugged in to a live (or working) electrical outlet. It's a good idea to check the appropriate circuit breaker and reset it if needed or check the fuse if you have a fuse box.
Next, turn the control knob to the proper cycle and pull it out to start the washer. Make sure any buttons are fully depressed.
Then turn both faucets (hot and cold) on all the way. Take a look at the inlet hoses (which go from your pipes to your washer) and straighten them out if necessary.
If it still won't work, turn off the faucets and disconnect the hoses. Clean the hose filter screens to remove any blockage that could be plugging up the water line.
Then replace the filter screens, reconnect the hoses, turn the faucets back on, close the lid and start another cycle.
You should hear water beginning to fill your washer. If you don't, please contact an authorized Maytag service provider for more assistance.
Important note:
Be sure to follow specific, published user-repair instructions, such as these, when you are attempting to service or repair any part of your washer. If the instructions don't make sense to you or you aren't sure how to perform them, please call an authorized Maytag service provider for assistance."

Not sure, but wait for a pro to post as they may have a better answer or you could check that site as posted above as there are some more troubleshooting info. on there. ;)

Not sure of your model but some Maytags have an injector valve that may be blocked with debri. Lift top up on machine & look at the back left side. There might be a plastic piece about 2" long with a hose clamp on each side. Remove & clean the injector valve & try washer again. Dave
