I recently swithced from AC to heat. worked fine at first, but later in the day the heat would not stop running. Thermostat problem?
In case it is related, this unit is old and about to be relaced by new larger unit being installed in an additon, but that is about 2 months away. The old unit has a stuck 3 way valve which I unplug to switch from AC to heat. up to now it worked fine in AC mode but outside unit frosted up in heat mode.

How can it be stuck if you unpluged it and now you have heat. You have to plug it back in so it can go into defrost and run as a AC at that time.
