Hi I am considering a Goodman 3.5 ton 14 Seer Heat Pump GSH140421A with indoor CAPF4860D6AA coil, an add on TXV for the indoor coil and a 95% 115K BTU variable speed gas furnace GMV951155DXA.

The coil has a Florater but is it used with the TXV or is it removed altogether?

Goodman shows a crankcase heater is not needed on a scroll compressor but is a hard start kit needed on the High-efficiency Copeland® scroll compressor with internal pressure relief valve?

Is there any circuit boards needed other then the ones that come with the furnace and heat pump?

If I buy a 3 stage heat, 2 stage cool thermostat will I need a fossil fuel kit or is the thermostat all I need for proper operation?

I live in Springfield Illinois and any help would be appreciated.

Thank you, Steve

I dont know the units you have there. But Id say go for a seer of 15 or better. Do so it will kick up your HSPFof the heatpump.
Our heatpumps all come with a TXV in them and no bleed back. So yes you for sure need a good start kit.
Up there Id want a crankcase heater .

Copeland® scroll compressor with internal pressure relief valve?
Thats why I dont like them. It runs if it is in one stage or two. It just has a by pass for just the one stage that closes for two stage.
You do want a OT tstat to go from heatpump to gas .

ED ;) my .02 cents

I would like to know if a Goodman Heat Pump has any complaints before I have it installed? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Storybook I look at it as the bottom of a cheap line that builders use.
