I had to replace a pipe under a bathroom sink. Since I had it all apart anyway, I decided to give the undersink space a makeover. I removed some contact paper that was put down instead of a needed paint job, but the heat gun left the glue residue there. What can I safely use to remove the glue to prepare the surface for painting?

Oops or Goo Gone will remove adhesive residue.
