I've got a GE Profile Side-by-Side model TFH30PRT which has two problems. The first is that the ice will no longer come through the door. Dispenser has three options: Water, Crushed Ice, and Cubed Ice. The mechanism is turned on by pushing your glass against the back of the dispenser, which presses against a switch behind a flexible boot. When that switch is punched on, it activates whichever function the three-position switch is pointing to. The water works just fine; Crushed Ice makes not even a sound--no motor whirring or anything; with Cubed Ice a motor turns on and makes a whirring sound, but no ice comes out. The ice conveyor doesn't turn even when the motor is whirring. It sounds like the drive shaft in the back of the freezer compartment may either not be being turned at all by the motor, or it's turning and somehow not engaging the ice conveyor. But I can't check to see because the punch switch is wired to be disabled when the freezer door is opened, so I can't open the door to observe what is happening with the drive shaft. Where is the switch located that disables the punch switch? Can't find a diagram anywhere. The other problem is that water keeps pooling and then freezing in the floor of the freezer compartment.

Try pushing in on the door light switch with your foot with door open. That should let the motor come on when you push in on the ice dispenser so you can see whats happening. To solve the water on the freezer floor problem you will have to remove the back panel in freezer & open the drain hole in the bottom that allows the water to drain into pan under fridge. You might have to use a hairdryer to melt ice out of hole first & then use a wire to remove any gunk that is blocking the hole. If the motor that drives the auger for your ice dispenser seems to be working, take the ice holder out & run hot water over the auger.
Could be ice jamming the auger. You should be able to turn the auger by hand. Dave

I assume by auger you mean the big screw that sits in the bottom of the ice bin and moves the ice cubes into the chute. It is not stuck. Found the light switch, and was able to see that the auger drive shaft is not turning. The motor whirrs, but it is not turning the shaft. I could turn the shaft by hand, but it was not loose or broken or something, because it was definitely still engaging other gears. I could hear them begin to whine as it began to turn; plus there was a good deal of inertia that tended to keep it turning even after I took my hand off---like there was a flyweel involved, or something. There was no response at all from the "Crushed Ice" position. Also, when you said to take off the back panel, I take it you mean in the back of the inside of the freezer compartment?

Sounds like the motor that drives the auger is bad if you hear it working inside but not turning. Yes, the back panel in the freezer that covers the coils needs to be taken out to get at drain plug.
