I have a Kenmore dryer Model 110.68942891 that was purchased in Oct. 1998. How do I get into the dryer to replace the actuator (part 691581)? I need specific instructions as to where to open and in what order (e.g., screws @ back, then brackets to release top, etc., etc.). Dryer is unplugged and ready for repair. This model has a bottom front panel and has the lint screen @ the front rather than on top.

The part number you listed is the lever bracket for the door switch. Is that what you are refering to? If so, I believe you can pry up on the front corners of the top of machine, tilt the top up & get to the bracket reaching down in without taking anything else apart. Should be 2 long screws holding it in place.

Thank you so much for the info; I'll give it a shot. BTW, the cabinet part listed in my Sears brochure is "Lever, Switch," but when I received the part, it was labelled "Actuator." Know I have the right part (whatever it is called) because the lever part of the one I am replacing is broken off and matches up to the new one. Yes, this is totally unknown territory for me! Thanks again.
