OK - I have a 20p with two 6270's and a 6160V.
So I just armed my system with my 6270 for away and when it finishes counting down it arms in stay.
Order of events..
Press Security button
Press AWAY button it beeps twice. The lock appears next to AWAY.
6160V says "Armed away exit now!".
It counts down but about 5 seconds before the keypad finishes counting down it arms in STAY mode and the lock switches to STAY.
I even walked in front of a motion detector and it gave me a fault but no alarm...
I also have a wireless key fob when I arm it that way... it arms in AWAY mode correctly.
ANY IDEAS??? Has any one armed with a 6270 and did not leave and notice this?

Never mind...
I forgot that the system is always smarter then the operator.
If the system does not see you exit it assumes you are still home so it arms in STAY mode.

:) Got your own question answered there.
I'll look in my manuals tomorrow and give you the field to disable auto-stay function (unless someone posts it before then).

Got it.... You can disable the Auto-Stay feature in programming by programming field *84 with a 0 (zero). This will defeat the auto-stay feature.

You also have the option of the night stay mode that lets you set specific interior zones to not bypass if you arm using the key sequence [code]+3+3. This also requires tweaking the zone type in the programming but is a bit more flexible. The automatic bypass is intended as a false alarm prevention feature, and has more good than bad to it.

Old thread, I realise, but I'm about to set up an interior zone to be night-stay armed.
I thought I just had to add it to the night stay list, and set a letter key to one-press night stay. You imply there is some zone programming involved.

The zone list is what I referred to. However, not all zone types will work in the night-stay zone list: Only zone types 4 and 10 (both interior zones) are affected by this configuration.
