my first code was an altering of the fan cycle (worded something like that....1 flash)
my electric ignitor works fine on the gas heat pump, but the flames come on for 10 secs at a time. then shut off for about 30 secs and then re-ignite for another 10 secs.
after resetting the unit, i turned it on once again and it was doing the same thing... only now it was doing the same thing and my light was saying that everything was normal. the blower fan wasnt running so i flipped it to the on position and now i have cold air. run back outside to to the unit and i have a new error code.
.... flame sense fault. i pulled out the 2 flame sensors but only so much can be wrong with solid metal. they looked fine... still clean... unit isnt too old. stuck them back in.... jiggled on all of the connections, and i still have the same problem.
the area around the unit reaks of gas while this is all happening. thinking it is coming from the hotbox exhaust. the vent that cools the hotbox is blowing out plenty of air. i did install a new elcheapo "hunter" electric thermostat this year though. only 5 wires to mess with so im pretty sure that i connected it correctly.
any thoughts on how to further my progress with the two sensors?
