I want to place tile in my masterbath room that has laminate on the floor right now. It is on the second floor of the house. Do i have to remove the laminate from the floor before installing the tile?

Yes, you need to remove both the vinyl and it's 1/4" underlayment. Post back with what's underneath as your subfloor and tyr to figure out by drilling a small hole, how thick, you joist size, spacing, and unsupported span of those joists.
