I have been testing and programming a 1555MX system as a replacement for my existing security system and I was moving along pretty good with 2 RF5501-433NA keypads until the one I was programming on stopped beeping and didn't seem to be doing anything (ie: no beeps) as I pressed the keys. Looking at my wiring to the controller, everything was wired correct and the only trouble was 8 (Clock set). The keypad just quit talking to the controller, but the clock was working. I went to the second keypad and it worked for a couple of minutes, then it also quit communicating. My questions are:
1.Is there a problem with the receive at the controller, or the keypad transmit?
2.Did I lock the keypads out somehow?
3.Do these keypads go bad frequently, and have I just found 2 that have reached the end of their lifecycle?

I suspect that you have inadvertantly programmed the keypads as "global" keypads.
"A global keypad will not display any information (the trouble LED will light if a trouble condition is present) until a partition
is selected. To select a partition the user must press and hold the [1] key for Partition 1 or the [2] key for Partition 2 for
two seconds. The keypad will then display the status of the selected partition and allow normal operation."
Try pressing the 1 key. If you get a normal display, go back into programming and make sure you set the keypad addresses as 11 and 12. You will need to do this at each keypad.
One problem that I do see is that you have two keypads with RF receivers. The only way two RF receivers can coexist on a DSC system is if you also have a PC5320 module that allows them to work together (you don't get more wireless zones, the module allows the receivers act as repeaters for each other, expanding the effective range).

MrRonFL:
You were 100% correct. I remembered I was in that section when the keypad lockout occured. Really appreciate the help, I guess I got distracted and entered the wrong code. Live and learn...
As to the RF5501-433NA keypads, I do not intend to use more than 1 in my system. I have a second from another 1555mx system. I doubt at this time if i will use wireless, I have a hardwired system which works well except for a couple of zones damaged by thunderstorms over the years. What I'm doing is replacing the old system with the DSC 1555MX.
Again Thanks
