We recently had new siding put on our house and naturally my wife had to change color schemes. :) We decided to spray paint our storm door instead of replacing it - it was in perfect condition other than being mauve in color. My question is, how do you get that semi rough feel to go away and the door to polish up to a nice finish? I used a semi-gloss high end spray paint and from a short distance the door looks great. However, when yo touch the door you can feel that not-so-smooth finish that spray piant leaves and you can see the spots that are rougher than others. Would a fine car polish work on this? Does anyone have any tricks? Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!!!!

Welcome to the forums
What prep did you do prior to painting?
What type of paint did you use?
You will probably need to sand the door down [use 220 grit] and repaint it. Unless the roughness was there before you painted I suspect that you got an overspray build up preventing a continous wet film of paint.
